The Balvenie distillery in Dufftown, Scotland, likes to do things in a good old way. It was founded by Willian Grant, a former bookkeeper in Mortach distillery. Enchanted by the world of Malts, he had a dream to once own a distillery of its own. And so in 1982, he drew plans to convert an old 18 century mansion Balvenie New House into a distillery, and he made his first whisky a year later. The distillery has never changed
